ITC AEM 1

Our technical team is ready to assess your installation and offer you the most suitable solution for your building.

The New ITC

The new ITC affects 100% of lifts in Spain with regard to maintenance, and it is estimated that 40% of them will require upgrades to comply with the new requirements.

At Ascensors Valls we have the experience and resources necessary to advise you and carry out the improvements your lift needs, ensuring compliance with the latest safety and accessibility requirements.

Mandatory safety update for existing lifts.

We help you comply with the new safety requirements affecting all existing lifts. From 1 July 2024, these measures will be checked during the mandatory periodic inspections, so it's important to get ahead and ensure your equipment is ready.

Safer and more accessible cabins

Proper leveling between the cabin and the floor is essential to prevent tripping and falls when entering or exiting the lift. The new regulations require a stopping accuracy of ±10 mm, and up to ±20 mm under loading or unloading conditions.

This improvement must be applied immediately if the traction machine is replaced within six months of an accident, or within one year of the periodic inspection for single-speed electric lifts. Modernizing the stop control system is an effective way to improve the safety and accessibility of the building.

Greater safety when opening and closing doors

To reduce the risk of injuries caused by doors closing suddenly, the new regulation requires the installation of a protective system covering a height of at least 25 mm up to 1,600 mm above the threshold level. This device detects the presence of users and prevents unexpected closures.

The improvement must be implemented within six months of an accident, or within one year following the periodic inspection. Installing an infrared curtain is an effective solution to enhance safety in the daily use of the lift.

Load control for greater safety

The regulations require the installation of systems that prevent the lift from moving if the maximum permitted load is exceeded, ensuring the safety of users and the proper functioning of the equipment.

This improvement must be implemented immediately if the control panel is replaced, or within one year following the periodic inspection. Installing a load-control device in the cabin is an effective solution to prevent hazards and overloads.

Two-way communication in the cabin for better accessibility

The regulations require the installation of a two-way communication system accessible to people with physical disabilities in the lift car. This measure must be implemented within one year of the periodic inspection.

At Ascensors Valls, we recommend installing modern systems that connect to service centers 24 hours a day, allowing constant monitoring and immediate management of emergencies, thus ensuring the safety and peace of mind of all users.
